Its capacity is even greater than the other types. The changing of spools with the use of a single action fly reel is also quite simple and uncomplicated. Multiplying fly reels, on the other hand, has a retrieve ratio of more that 1:1. One complete turn of a fly reel may equal two or even more turns of the spool. The result is a quicker reeling of the line. This type however may not have a consistent performance. The complicated parts causes more risk of a breakdown of said parts. Those who may go for large fish may find this type handy because of the quick retrieve.
The last type, the automatic fly reel, as its name suggests, retrieves the fly line automatically without the need for the angler to turn a handle. In fact, this type has no handles. It is a trigger that releases and retrieves the line. Some of the problems, though, encountered when using this reel is its weight and the durability. Many find it very heavy and not too durable. It also does not have a fine drag setting and does not hold much backing. It is also not easy to change spools with this type of reel.
