Tying Spinner Harnesses

Most hardy fishermen prefer tying spinner harnesses on their own. The reason lies not only on saving a great deal of money but also on the fact that there is something about customizing the rigs that makes fishing more appealing. Call it sentimental value, but to catch a fish because he fell for the angler’s ingenuity is a lot more satisfying.
Tying spinner harnesses sounds complicated but is in fact quite easy to execute. The first step is to tie the hook perfectly with a line. This is done by aligning 1 to 2 inches of line against the hook up to the eye. Then from the eye going down to the hook point, wrap the line as tight as possible against the shank. Through the eye, thread the line in the opposite way from where it came from. End with a knot by pulling the line tight. Secure knot by sliding it towards the eye.
The next step is making the harness more attractive and efficient in catching fish. Slide 5 colorful beads down the line. Then arrange the clevis into the spinner blade by securely fastening them. The clevis will help avoid the line being cut by a spinning blade. An additional bead can be placed above the blade. Finally, create a 1 inch loop above by doubling and tying the line with a knot.

Creating and tying one’s own harness allow the fisherman more chances to be in control and to manipulate the fishing situation. The delight in catching a fish becomes double when it gets done with a tackle assembled and designed on one’s own.
