Remember what it was like to stand on the shore of your favorite small trout stream. You have picked the fly that you are going to offer to the trout. You adjust your waders and with your forearm you feel the familiar resting place against your creel.
Your fishing creel is a part of your body as much as it is a piece of equipment that you bring along. Much like your fly rod, or your landing net, your creel was the final resting place for your catch.
Long before the days of plastic bags before portable coolers and bring along ice we had fishing creels. If the day was hot you might take some cool moss and line the bottom of your basket.
Most of the fishing creels were hand made of cane, bamboo,rattan. The material wasn as important as the feel against the hip.
